What it is for: sending the same message to many contacts at once (a promotion, a notice, a renewal) through the official WhatsApp channel. You use templates that WhatsApp approves first, and your number is not at risk of being blocked.
Where to find it: menu Win customers («Captar clientes») → WhatsApp campaigns («Campañas WhatsApp»).
Who sees it: anyone who has the WhatsApp campaigns module. If you do not have it, the screen tells you and lets you ask for it to be turned on. If you do not see it in your menu, ask in Help and contact («Ayuda y contacto»).
What you see first
- A strip with your official number, its Quality («Calidad») and its Sending limit («Límite de envío», how many messages you can send every 24 hours).
- Two tabs: Campaigns («Campañas») and Templates («Plantillas»), each with its count.
- In Campaigns, the list on the left and, on the right, the details of the campaign you pick.
If you have not connected your number yet, you will see the box Connect your official WhatsApp («Conecta tu WhatsApp oficial») at the top.
How a send works
It is always the same path: approved template → create the campaign → prepare recipients → test on your phone → send or schedule. Nothing goes out unless you press the button.
Step by step
Connect your official WhatsApp number
- Have a number ready that is not in use on WhatsApp (neither the normal app nor the business app) so you can receive an SMS or a call with the code.
- Click Connect my WhatsApp → («Conectar mi WhatsApp →»).
- Sign in with your company's Facebook and pick your Meta portfolio (or create it on the spot).
- Enter the name your customers will see and verify the number with the code.
- Add your card in Meta: Meta charges the campaign messages directly, at cost.
- When you finish, you come back to this screen. If you do not see your number straight away, wait a minute and click I have connected it («Ya lo he conectado»).
It takes about 5 minutes. If the sign-up does not complete, you can repeat it: nothing has been charged.
Create a message template and send it for review
A template is the fixed text of the message, with blanks for each person's name or company. WhatsApp reviews it before you can use it.
- Go to the Templates tab.
- Give it an internal name (for example, "October offer") and choose the category: Marketing (promotions) or Utility (notice) («Utilidad (aviso)», notices about something the person already has or asked for).
- Under Header («Cabecera») choose Nothing, Text, Image, Video or PDF. For a file, click Upload file («Subir fichero»).
- Write the Message («Mensaje»). The B, I and S buttons give you bold, italic and strikethrough, and + variable adds a blank that is filled in on each campaign with the name, company, etc.
- If you like, add a Footer («Pie») in small print.
- Add Buttons («Botones», up to 10): Quick reply, Link, Call, Copy coupon or Opt-out button.
- On the right, This is how they will see it on their phone («Así lo verá en su móvil») shows you a preview.
- Click Send for review («Enviar a revisión»). WhatsApp usually approves it within minutes; if it takes longer, up to 24 hours.
If something breaks the rules, the panel warns you with a ⚠️ before sending it. In the list of templates you will see whether it is Approved («Aprobada»), In review («En revisión») or Rejected («Rechazada», with the reason). Use delete («borrar») to remove a template.
Create a campaign
- In the Campaigns tab, click + New campaign («+ Nueva campaña»).
- Give it an internal name (for example, "October renewals").
- Choose an approved template. Only the ones WhatsApp has already approved appear.
- If the template has blanks, say what fills each one: name, company, phone or a link of yours.
- If the template has an image, video or PDF, you can Change («Cambiar») the file for this campaign only. If it has a coupon or a link ending, fill those in.
- Choose Who to send to («A quién», see the next section).
- Click Save draft («Guardar borrador»).
Choose who it goes to
In the new campaign:
- Who («A quién»): Leads / customers from the CRM or Business agenda (companies).
- Tags («Etiquetas»): separated by commas; only people who have all of them receive it.
- Customers only («Solo clientes») or Non-customers only («Solo NO clientes»): you cannot tick both at once.
- No activity for (days) («Sin actividad desde hace (días)»): to win back people who have not replied in a while.
It is only sent to contacts that have a phone number and have not opted out.
Prepare, test and send a campaign
- Open the campaign in the list.
- Click calculate now («calcular ahora», next to Recipients) to see how many match the filter and a few examples.
- Click 1 · Prepare recipients («1 · Preparar destinatarios»). The campaign moves to Prepared («Preparada»).
- Type your mobile for the test and click Test («Probar»): you receive the message exactly as they will.
- When it looks right, click 2 · Send now («2 · Enviar ahora», it asks you to confirm), or pick a date and time under or schedule («o programar») and click OK.
Sends go out in batches, respecting your number's limit.
See the results and who it was sent to
- Open the campaign and look at Results («Resultados»): sent, delivered, read, failed and opt-outs.
- Click ↻ Results to refresh the figures.
- Expand View recipients («Ver destinatarios») to see how it went for each person.
If a campaign stops halfway (status Stopped, «Parada»), click Resume sending («Reanudar envío»). Use Delete («Borrar») to remove a campaign you do not need.
What happens when someone opts out
If someone replies BAJA or STOP, or taps the template's opt-out button, they are excluded from all your future campaigns automatically. You do not have to do anything.
