Communities

What it is for: having a private space for your customers or students, where you post, they comment and you moderate. It is your own corner for conversation inside EK1.

Where to find it: menu Community («Comunidad») → Communities («Comunidades»).
Who sees it: only the account owner, and only if you have the Suite or Communities switched on. If you see the section with a padlock, you do not have it yet: look at Upgrade your AI («Amplía tu IA») or ask our support team.

What you see first

One card per community, with its name and a few tags: Active («Activa») or Archived («Archivada»), how many members it has, how many posts and, if something is waiting, to review («por revisar»). If it has a sign-up link you also see Sign-up by link («Alta con enlace»). Click a card to manage that community.

Inside each community there are tabs: Posts («Publicaciones»), Members («Miembros»), Channels («Canales»), Access («Acceso»), Events («Eventos»), Ranking, Analytics («Analítica») and Settings («Ajustes»).

Step by step

Create a new community
  1. Click New community («Nueva comunidad»), at the top right.
  2. Type the Name («Nombre», at least two letters).
  3. Click Create («Crear»). You go straight into the new community.
  4. In Settings you can add a Description («Descripción») and click Save («Guardar»).
Invite a person from your CRM to the community
  1. Go into the community and open the Members tab.
  2. Type in Search the CRM by name or email («Buscar en el CRM por nombre o email»). Matches appear.
  3. If you want their link to arrive by email, leave Send them their link by email («Mandarle su enlace por email») ticked.
  4. Click Invite («Invitar») next to the person.
  5. If you did not tick the email option, Their link (shown only now) («Su enlace (solo se enseña ahora)») appears: click Copy («Copiar») and send it yourself. It cannot be shown again later, but you can always create a new one.

If you have courses in the academy, a button Academy students («Alumnos de la academia») lets you invite from there.

Create a link so people can sign up on their own
  1. Open the Access («Acceso») tab and choose Free («Gratis») or Paid («De pago»).
  2. If it is paid, set the price (before tax) and click Save. To charge, you need a company set up in Sales; if not, the screen tells you.
  3. Go to Settings and click Create free sign-up link («Crear enlace de alta gratis»), or Create purchase page («Crear página de compra») if it is paid.
  4. Copy the link with Copy and share it. Change link («Cambiar enlace») makes the old one stop working; Remove («Quitar») leaves the community invitation-only.
Post something in the community
  1. Open the Posts tab.
  2. Choose the Channel («Canal») it goes in.
  3. Write the text. Use @name to mention someone.
  4. If you like, add Images («Imágenes»), Upload video («Subir vídeo», or paste a YouTube or Vimeo link) or a Poll («Encuesta») with its options.
  5. Click Publish («Publicar»).
Review and moderate what people post
  1. In Posts, the To review («Por revisar») filter shows what is waiting for your approval; Hidden («Ocultas») shows what you have hidden.
  2. On each post you can Approve («Aprobar», or Show, «Mostrar»), Pin («Fijar», it stays on top), Hide («Ocultar»), Comment («Comentar») or Delete («Borrar»). Deleting asks you to confirm with Yes, delete («Sí, borrar»).
  3. In Channels you can tick Review before publishing («Revisar antes de publicar») so nothing goes out without your approval, or Only moderators can post («Solo publican moderadores»).
Manage a member

In Members, each person has buttons to Make moderator («Hacer moderador», or Remove moderator, «Quitar moderador»), Mute («Silenciar»), Remove from community («Expulsar»), Send link («Enviar enlace») and New link («Enlace nuevo»). If you have muted or removed someone, the same place lets you Unmute («Quitar silencio») or Readmit («Readmitir»).

Archive or delete a community

In Settings, Archive («Archivar») keeps it saved and Reopen («Reabrir») brings it back. Delete community («Borrar comunidad») removes everything (posts, images and members) and asks you to confirm.
